ERANIO IS THE LATEST ADDITION

Posted on: Mon 29 Jun 2009

Italian star Stefano Eranio is the latest addition to Derby County's All-Time XI after topping the poll for the club's best right-sided midfielder.

The classy midfielder beat off strong competition from the Tin Man Ted McMinn, 1940s legend Sammy Crooks, and Gary Micklewhite, a key part of the 1980s successes under Arthur Cox.

Eranio is the sixth player to take his place in the team being voted for by the Rams' faithful, who are picking out the greatest line-up in the club's history.

Already in are goalkeeper Colin Boulton, right-back Ron Webster and left-back David Nish, along with centre-halves Roy McFarland and Igor Stimac.

Now the search is on to find the greatest left-winger in Derby County's 125 years of history.

The poll opens on July 1 and you will have until July 25 to get your vote in via a coupon in the Derby Evening Telegraph, via www.therams.co.uk and by e-mail to webmaster@dcfc.co.uk.

There will be a prize each month for a winning fan drawn from those who have voted for the chosen player.

The fan will receive a team shirt with the name and team number of the chosen player. This will be signed, if possible, by the player.

Kit Launch. 03 July 09. Market Place Derby.
