Michael Forsyth and Darren Wassall are back with Derby County after being appointed to the Academy coaching staff.
The pair, who have a rich history and knowledge of football in the region, will start work immediately, with Nigel Clough looking to throw the emphasis on attracting the best talent in Derbyshire.
The Rams manager is hoping to herald in a new era for the Academy.
Nigel Clough said: "Michael and Darren are two great people with a tremendous knowledge of football in the region and a passion for Derby County.
"They have both played for the club, so have a great understanding of its heritage and how important it is to the people of this area.
"Their enthusiasm for finding local talent is unrivalled and we are fortunate to have them on board as we look to take the Academy in a new direction."
He also confirmed there would be further appointments to follow as part of the restructuring.
Clough added: "We have other people lined up to come in and will hopefully be able to make announcements on that soon.
"It's vital that we concentrate on getting and developing the best youngsters in Derbyshire and across the East Midlands; that is now our focus."
Michael Forsyth, 43, played over 400 games for Derby County during nine successful years at the club. The talented defender was signed by Arthur Cox in March 1986, enjoying two promotions before leaving to join Notts County in February 1995. He is also a former winner of the Jack Stamps trophy, having been voted supporters player of the season for the 1987/88 campaign.
Darren Wassall, 40, featured over 120 times for the Rams having also been signed by Cox. He joined Derby County in the summer of 1992 and soon gained a reputation as a reliable defender. He was also a member of the side that won promotion to the Premier League under Jim Smith in 1996. Wassall left the Rams in 1997 to join Birmingham City.
Both Forsyth and Wassall also enjoyed spells at Burton Albion, under the management of Nigel Clough.
