PAIR STRIKE BUT CHARLTON TURN IT AROUND
Derby County's FA Premier Academy League season got off to a rip-roaring start as the Rams raced into a two-goal lead - but the opening day ended in disappointment as Charlton Athletic recovered to earn a 3-2 win on Saturday.
The Moor Farm encounter looked to be going firmly in the direction of the home side as Jack Booth (15) and Paris Simmons (20) put Derby in command.
Charlton's only real first-half chances came from set-pieces as the Rams controlled matters but it was a different story after the break.
However they re-appeared after the break and upped the tempo with some direct football and pulled one back on the hour, before levelling three minutes later.
Their winner arrived with 70 on the clock and though Derby rallied in a bid to recover something from the game, they were unable to break the visitors down.
Derby travel to Cardiff City this Saturday for their second game of the season.
