Posted on: Fri 27 Aug 2010

Work on the monument to commemorate Brian Clough and Peter Taylor is well underway.

Artist Andy Edwards is one of the world's top experts in sporting statues and is constructing the monument.

This week Derby County received planning permission from Derby City Council to have the monument erected at Pride Park.

Vice President of Operations John Vicars said: "This is fantastic news for the Football Club and also for the people of Derby.

"With planning permission assured I am pleased to say we are on course for an unveiling in August of this year.

"It really is an exciting time and I think we can all sense the excitement is building to see the final version."

You too can be part of sporting history and purchase some fantastic and unique Clough/Taylor memorabilia.

Available now are exclusive items such as a limited edition bronze scale model maquette of the final monument, along with the chance to have a commemorative inscription beneath the statue once it is completed.

Limited edition coins and cufflinks are also available, and a DVD celebrating the pair's achievements is coming soon.
