Clough/Taylor Monument News

Posted on: Wed 01 Sep 2010

The Monument of Brian Clough & Peter Taylor was revealed last week at Pride Park and has already proved to be popular landmark with the people of Derby, and beyond.

Very rarely since its unveiling on Friday has the monument not been surrounded by members of the public wishing to take a closer look.

The club today revealed that the top row of plaques adjacent to the Clough/Taylor plaque on the monument has completely sold out.

A second band has now been released, and individuals or companies who wish to purchase a plaque which will be affixed to the plinth, in perpetuity, should contact Mandy Hollis on 01332 667517 or email mandy.hollis@dcfc.co.uk.

Derby County's Vice President of Operations John Vicars commented: "The feedback we've had from supporters and the people of Derby has been fantasticwith lots of nice things being said about what has been created. We have had a terrific response from people over the last few days who want to show their support towards the two great men."

In addition, the club has purchased a blank bronze plaque to donate to Derby County supporters.

The club are asking fans to get involved and help suggest a suitable tribute to Clough and Taylor from Rams fans.

Ideas should be forwarded to mandy.hollis@dcfc.co.uk, with the selected text being etched onto the plaque.

The supporter who suggests the chosen tribute will be invited to attend a special ceremony when the plaque is affixed to the plinth.
