The inaugural Brian Clough Trophy game played in the summer between the Rams and Forest has raised £100,000 for East Midlands charities.

The pre-season game at Pride Park in July saw the master manager's two former clubs go head-to-head in a keenly contested encounter.

The Rams triumphed 2-0, but, more importantly, a crowd of 25,159 helped realise the organisers' dream of raising a six-figure sum.

Forest, Derby and the Brian Clough Memorial Fund have nominated charities to benefit from all the profits from the game.

Derby County's 10 designated charities for 2007/08 will share £20,000 and £5,000 will go to the Derbyshire FA's charity.

Forest are to give £25,000 to their annual nominated charity, The Danielle Beccan Memorial Trust, and the Brian Clough Memorial Fund will distribute a further £25,000 to a number of local charities at the discretion of the Clough family.

Additionally, all three parties have agreed to present £12,500 to the East Midlands Air Ambulance and NSPCC (East Midlands).

Derby County Operations Director John Vicars said: "We are delighted, not only with the fantastic boost for local charities, but also with the way both sets of supporters responded to the game and the great atmosphere that was created in the name of Brian Clough."

The Brian Clough Trophy will be contested every time Derby and Forest meet, whether it be in a league, cup or friendly encounter. "The game was a huge success - a fitting tribute to a man whose contribution to football in the East Midlands is never likely to be matched," said Forest chief executive Mark Arthur. "We set out with the intention of trying to raise a six-figure sum and we're delighted that we were successful thanks to the efforts of both clubs' supporters."

Presentations to the various beneficiaries will be organised in the near future.
