Lucky 16-year-old Gareth Thomas has won a prize money can't buy - a day at our Moor Farm Training Ground with the manager and players.
Gareth was selected from a number of applicants who applied to win this exclusive Derby County prize through the Your Shot competition run by the Premier League, part of its Creating Chances community programme.
Gareth was greeted on his arrival at Moor Farm on Tuesday by operations director John Vicars who presented Gareth with a personalised limited edition 3rd shirt. Gareth then moved on to have breakfast with the players and by 10:30am the teenager had met the gaffer Paul Jewell and was changed and ready to go pitchside to watch the Rams squad being put through their paces on the playing field.
After training, Gareth was given the opportunity to pit his wits against first team 'keeper Stephen Bywater in a penalty competition. Gareth acquitted himself well, popping in four of his 10 penalties. After a series of pool matches against the players in the common room Gareth then joined staff and players for the Moor Farm Christmas dinner.
After lunch, the hectic day continued with a visit to Pride Park where our VIP guest was treated to a tour of the stadium before finishing the day with a couple of penalties on the Pride Park pitch.
Gareth will be able to re-live his day at Derby County on television as he was followed by a camera crew from BBC's Football Focus (below).
