Respect, trust, responsibility and fair play - four key values that apply to football right across the globe.
They are vital in the ethos of the work of Derby County in the Community but they can be applied anywhere, as Richard Astle found out earlier this month.
Richard, the football development worker with the club's Hat-Trick project, spent a week in Israel to work on the Football4Peace scheme.
It was a highly rewarding trip, both for the youngsters involved and for Richard's own experiences.
"Football4Peace is a sport-based co-existence programme for Jewish and Arab children that has been running in towns and villages of the Galilee region of northern Israel since 2001," Richard explained to www.dcfc.co.uk.
"The project teaches the children how to deal with conflict and celebrate success together.
"Its main focus is to get Jewish and Arab children to respect each other, play fairly and to work together as a team.
"Derby County were highly supportive of the scheme and generously donated football shirts from various English clubs to the project, as well as hosting part of the Run 4 Inspiration fundraising event at Pride Park Stadium."

Richard distributed the shirts to youngsters and they were then given the opportunity to take part in football sessions based around the themes of respect, trust, responsibility and fair play.
Alongside Jewish and Arab coaches, Richard worked with the youngsters for four days as they built towards a football festival in Nazareth with over 600 children taking part.
They were in charge of the winning team, though the overall experience was of far more importance.
"The experiences of this trip will be invaluable and there will be plenty we can take back to the Kickz and Hat-Trick projects within Derby County in the Community," Richard said.
"Although the circumstances of the participants are extremely different to those in Israel many of the values that we were teaching to the children are applicable worldwide."
