Holiday coaching

During school holidays we operate our very popular coaching programmes.

Set around the county and delivered by our team of highly skilled full-time and part-time coaches, the camps aim to provide outstanding value for money and a high quality football experience for all young participants.

The activities undertaken by the children include Olympics day, shooting and finishing skills as well as a whole host of fun games and tournaments.

Courses run from 9am through to 3pm and can provide parents with a fantastic childcare opportunity.

Our courses cater for children from reception through to year six (five to 11-year-olds).

Sessions are designed to be inclusive and are differentiated to each child's needs. Our holiday programme is not an elite programme, it is a grass-roots provision.

Our core delivery centres are based at Moor Farm Training Ground and Powerleague Soccerdome Pride Park.

We have developed a host of satellite centres around the county to accommodate our wider community.

These centres usually running for two day are delivered in line with our main city centres.

Current satellite venues include Wilsthorpe Business and Enterprise College in Long Eaton, Frederick Gent Secondary School in South Normanton, Pingle School in Swadlincote, Hermitage Leisure Centre in Whitwick, Anthony Gell School in Wirksworth and the Whitworth Centre in Darley Dale.

We work hard with our facility hosts and key partners to create a good value for money opportunity.

Our two day satellite centres cost £20 while our city camps are priced at £12.50 per day with discounts for weekly bookings.

A huge addition to our programmes are the surprise appearances from our first team players and club mascot Rammie.

Our club mascot and players enjoy taking part in all our programmes and especially like coming to meet the young players on our holiday programmes.

Weekend Club

In conjunction with Power League (formerly JJB Soccerdome), Derby County in the Community offers weekend coaching sessions for both girls and boys.

The initiative offers children from reception age to year six the opportunity to receive progressive coaching in a fun and relaxed environment.

Operating throughout the year, the sessions run from 9am through to 10am and 11am through to 12pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

Children are assigned to a designated pitch along with children from the same academic year in order to receive coaching aimed specifically at their age group.

Core football skills are delivered over an eight-week period to encompass all the basic elements including passing, control, shooting and dribbling.

Prices are £4 per session on both Saturday and Sunday. Payment is required one calendar month in advance. Pre-booking is required.

Kick Start football sessions for pre-reception children at Power League (formerly JJB Soccerdome) on Pride Park have been specifically developed to offer pre-reception aged children (beginning reception in September 2008) the opportunity to participate in fun coaching sessions in a safe environment with the security of their parent assisting their learning.

The sessions are specifically tailored to the needs of the age range while following the themes of our main Weekend Club.

Prices are £3 per session on both Saturday and Sunday. Payment is required one calendar month in advance. Pre-booking is required.

Coaching centres

Our coaching centres based throughout Derbyshire offer children in reception through to year six the opportunity to participate in structured football coaching programmes in a fun and safe environment after school.

The coaches delivering at the centres will put young participants through their paces as they develop their core football skills of passing, shooting, dribbling, running with the ball and control to name just a few.

We have carefully planned our coaching centre locations to create more accessible opportunities to the wider community.

Coaching centres are at Derby Moor School, Moor Farm, Derby High School, Leesbrook Community School, Woodlands School and Frederick Gent School.

The coaching programme is delivered over a ten week period with three terms of coaching delivered each academic year.

The cost of coaching centre sessions ranges from £3 to £4 depending on venue and duration of session.

As with our Weekend Club and holiday programme pre-booking is required.
