* 1997 Derby County Football in the Community is formed as Derby County enter national Football in the Community programme.

* 1999 Derby County Football in the Community has an annual turnover of approximately £70,000. The scheme is very reactive and suffers from a lack of vision and strategy. The scheme works in isolation and suffers from a lack of key partnerships.

* 2001 The scheme undergoes restructuring to support ongoing development of community activities.

* 2003 The scheme has successful year and is working profitably. It is delivering a number of emerging programmes that show a new diversity of delivery and high quality of provision and organisation.

* 2003 Derby County Football in the Community enters into numerous partnerships with key agencies to ensure that it meets local, regional and national needs and agendas.

* 2005 Derby County Football in the Community has annual turnover of £250,000 and is model of good practice nationwide.

* 2008 Derby County in the Community has 24 full-time staff and has an annual turnover in excess of £550,000 involving over 30,000 children.
