Eddie Lewis is a Derby County player after completing the formalities of a move from Leeds United.

The 33-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal to join the Rams for an undisclosed fee.

Winger Lewis first arrived in the English game back in 2000 when he joined Premier League side Fulham from San Jose Earthquakes for £1.3m.

But he played just 22 times for the Craven Cottage outfit - including a goalscoring League Cup outing against Derby - before moving to Preston North End two and a half years later.

Preston paid £500,000 and got 16 goals in over 100 appearances for their money.

Lewis's contract ran out in 2005 and he moved to Leeds and clocked up another 96 games, scoring nine goals in the process.

He will wear squad number 15 for Derby, and not 13 as originally expected.
