Eddie Lewis will bring experience and quality to Derby County's Premier League squad - that's the verdict of boss Billy Davies after the player signed a two-year contract with the Rams earlier today.

"I'm absolutely delighted that Eddie has signed," said Billy. "The left side of midfield is an area we have targeted for improvement and he has a wonderful left foot. His delivery from wide areas and set pieces will provide an excellent platform for our attacking play."

The USA international, now 33, holds UK residency having first played Premier League football in 2000 when he signed for Fulham for £1.3-million from San Jose Earthquakes. He moved on to Preston North End for £500,000 and then to Leeds in 2005.
