Gary Teale reckons belief is the key as the Rams prepare for a trip to one of world football's most daunting environments.
A packed Anfield is often like a goal start to Liverpool and that's the challenge facing Derby on Saturday.
Billy Davies's side aren't tipped by the bookies or pundits to bring anything home from Merseyside but Teale says anything can happen on the day.
"As a footballer you've got to have belief in yourself and pride in what you're doing," he told www.dcfc.co.uk.
"And you hope that your team mates and everyone else has that as well.
"At the end of the day it is only 11 men against 11.
"We will go there positive we can get a result, we have to believe in ourselves and hopefully the fans will believe in us too.
"We need to go there and try to win as many battles - as the gaffer puts it - against their players.
"And we know that if we battle away and get that little bit of luck we could get that three points we want."
