Boss Paul Jewell has spoken of a "very positive" few days in Holland as his preparations for the 2008/09 Coca-Cola Championship season gather pace.

Friday night's friendly with TOP Oss was the culmination of a good time at the training camp in Mierlo - the Rams' base since their arrival on Tuesday.

And though his side went down 2-0 to the Dutch second division outfit, Jewell found plenty of positives to talk about when he spoke to www.dcfc.co.uk after the final whistle.

He said: "Of course we wanted to win the game but the performance was the most important aspect and there were plenty of positives to come out of the match.

"The lads were lively in attack and got down the flanks, which was something we had been working on all week.

"We created some very good chances but were caught out with a couple of sucker-punches.

"I thought the new players did OK and showed signs of potential so the key now is to blend them in to the team.

"The most important thing for us is that we blew away some of the cobwebs and highlighted some areas we need to improve in.

"It has been a busy week for the lads and they have done a hell of a lot of training, which played a factor in the game.

"But all in all it has been a very positive trip and we will now look to kick on back in England."
