The Rams are in a four-team group which will see them play three games over the next three months as they aim to qualify for the semi-finals.
Home matches will be played at the Impact Arena, the home of Alfreton Town, with the first taking place on Wednesday September 3 as Oldham Athletic are the visitors for a 7pm kick-off.
Derby's next game is on Wednesday October 8 as they take on Walsall at the Banks's Stadium, again with a 7pm start, before the group games are rounded off in November.
Mansfield Town head to the Impact Arena on Wednesday November 19 for a 2pm kick-off, with all games open to members of the public.
Derby are in group three of four with the winners of each group qualifying for the semi-finals, which will be played on a knock-out basis.
Group one consists of Carlisle United, Hartlepool, Newcastle United, Sheffield United and Sunderland, with Bradford City, Grimsby Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough making up group two.
Group four is made up from Accrington Stanley, Macclesfield Town, Morecambe, Rochdale and Tranmere Rovers.
