As the Rams mini revival continues Paul Jewell took heart from another gutsy performance by his resurgent Rams.

"We didn't play well today, there is no getting away from it, some of us look tired.

"When it is like this you have to get something out of the game, a win, so I'm absolutely delighted because of that.

"Plymouth were the form team so we expected that we may have to hang on at times, which we did.

"They didn't have the amount of players on international duty - so they had a full team to spend the last two weeks preparing with, but again we showed resilience.

"We came from a goal behind early, then grabbed a goal on the stroke of half-time. Things are going our way at the moment but we are earning that right.

"Rob's goal came from our first bit of quality in the game, it gave us a boast and I said to them at half time that I wanted them to use that and take into the second half.

"It was great play from Krissy Common's and Rob has done well to turn his man and get the shot away.

"I'm pleased for Rob as he always puts in a shift for the team and deserve his goals.

"In the second half they came out flat and we scored a second, it was a cracking save from their keeper he was unlucky, but we'll take that. But after that we were hanging on abit, as they are big and physical.

"The two centre halves were looking a bit tired - having been away with the countries - and also Nacer, but the whole team showed character.

"The fans sensed that they got really behind us and were w great help again.

"I was happy with the performance but what I am happy with is the spirit and desire and winning matches.

Kris Commons was allowed the early opportunity to stake a claim - having overcome a recent hamstring problem - due to Steve Davies being taken to Hospital with a nasty cheek bone injury.

"Steve has had a nasty bang on his face but it does seem that is not a fracture, as first expected. It is a shame for the lad as he has forced his way into the team and got a goal against Birmingham so it is a nasty one for him, but we're hopeful.

"But Steve's misfortune was Kris' chance to get back into the team, unfortunate for him we then had to take him off as he took a kick on his knee.

"As we know Kris is renowned for his flashes of brilliance and that's what he showed with Rob's goal and that is what got us the equaliser.

"I think he struggled with the pace of the game but so did other players.

"We have a few knocks in the dressing room and it is a mad period we are going into so we need to use the whole squad carefully and people need to be ready if called upon.

"It is exciting as a manager when you start building things and at the moment I'm feeling that. The players have been brilliant they are all working for one another and it is giving me great pleasure.

"In this league if you go on a run and start to think and feel you can't lose and things can happen. This group of players are getting that now and even when we at the bottom I said and knew we could turn it around as this league is that tight."
