Derby County will lock horns with newly promoted Peterborough United on the opening day of the Championship season.
The fixtures have been announced this morning and Rams will take on two of the promoted clubs in the first two weeks, with Scunthorpe away as the second league encounter.
Supporters won't have to wait long before enjoying a clash with rivals Nottingham Forest; Nigel Clough takes his charges to the City Ground on Saturday August 29th, with the return fixture at Pride Park taking place on the 30th of January 2010.
The Rams renew acquaintances with Leicester City at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday October 17th and then at Pride Park on Saturday 27th March.
Fans will also be pleased to learn they won't have to travel on Boxing Day, with Derby County facing Blackpool at home on the 26th December.
Soon after it's St James' Park and Newcastle United, on Monday 28th December, with the Geordies coming to Derby on Tuesday 9th February.
The regular Championship season will also conclude at Pride Park, with Cardiff City the visitors on Sunday May 2nd.
