Winger Lee Croft pointed to the influence of some of his new colleagues as a key driving force behind his move to Derby County.
The 24-year-old has penned a three-year contract after signing on a Bosman free transfer having seen out his contract at Norwich City.
He was introduced to the media and photographers on Monday up at the club's Moor Farm training ground and can't wait to get going with his new team-mates.
Croft told www.dcfc.co.uk: "I already know some of the lads here like Stephen Bywater, Dean Leacock and Jay McEveley.
"They all speak very highly of the club and some of the quality we have in the dressing room.
"I had quite a few options of clubs to join this summer but when I met the Gaffer and the chairman I knew straight away that this was the right club for me.
"There is a positive vibe around the place and everyone is ambitious and committed to getting better.
"I know that I'll have to be at my best to get into the team and keep my place.
"There is plenty of competition for places and that is what makes you a better player.
"I'm already starting to settle into life in Derby and I can't wait for training to start."
