Defender Tyrone Mears has completed his move to newly-promoted Burnley.

Owen Coyle has made the full-back his first summer signing since leading the Clarets to the Premier League via the play-offs last season. 

Mears initially moved to Pride Park on loan from West Ham in January 2007 before completing a permanent move that summer after Derby's promotion to the top-flight.

He made 48 appearances for the Rams, scoring twice, and spent last season on loan with French side Marseille.
