Derby County's Under 18s kick off their Premier League Academy campaign with an away trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday morning.

The young Rams have enjoyed a seven-week pre-season programme which was rounded off with a 2-0 friendly victory over MK Dons last weekend.

Other pre-season games included fixtures against Liverpool, Birmingham City, Walsall and Leicester City.

Youth Team Manager John Perkins said: "The lads worked tremendously hard over pre-season campaign.

"Overall the win over MK Dons was an improved performance and the squad are settling into the type of football we would like our young players to play, and hopefully develop."

Kick-off is at 11am and dcfc.co.uk will have a report and reaction from the game on Monday.

The young Rams are in action at Moor Farm next Saturday morning, with Ipswich Town the visitors.
