CROFT LOOKING FOR HOME COMFORTS

Posted on: Fri 11 Sep 2009

Lee Croft believes Derby County must seize the opportunity to build up some momentum with back-to-back home games.

The Rams entertain Sheffield United at Pride Park on Saturday followed by the visit of Barnsley next Tuesday.

Nigel Clough's side have claimed two wins from two this season at Pride Park and wideman Croft is to keep that run going.

"We've had two good wins at home so far and we would love that to continue against both Sheffield United and Barnsley," Croft told Rams Player, dcfc.co.uk's online TV station.

"It would be nice to get two good results and that would certainly stand us in good stead going into the game at Crystal Palace next Saturday.

"The away form has been a bit of concern so far this season, but at home we are doing well and I'm pretty sure if we can get two wins from these two games we will have some momentum behind us to take down to Selhurst Park."

The Rams have scored two goals in every Coca-Cola Championship game with one exception this season, highlighting the firepower the Rams have at their disposal this season.

Despite hitting the net on a regular basis the Rams have not recorded as many clean sheets as they would have liked and Croft has called for an increased effort as a team to keep the Blades out this weekend.

"We're always going to score goals, so that is half the battle won," said the former Manchester City and Norwich winger.

"In fact, when we were away (in Marbella) that if you score two goals in a game like we did at Scunthorpe and Forest, we should not be walking away with nothing.

"It is up to us as a team to keep scoring the goals and tighten up at the other end."
