Derby County's Under 18s sere beaten 2-1 by Blackburn Rovers at the weekend at Moor Farm.
The visitors took the lead fifteen minutes in after a bright start through Jason Banton.
The Rams defence was caught out on the right side and Banton went on to find a way through the Rams defence and shoot past James Severn.
The remainder of the first half was fairly even with both sides creating half chances.
Aaron Cole replaced Andrew Spencer at the break and he made an instant impact as the Rams started the second half very brightly with some determined runs.
In the 60th minute the Rams equalised when Callum Ball shot home from eight yards after some good work by Arron Dillon.
Derby were well on top at this stage and Dillon, Ball and Graham Kelly all went close with good efforts.
On the counter attack Blackburn grabbed the winner with fifteen minutes to go.
Severn came out to make the initial save, but could not stop the rebound shot and James Knowles fired home the winner.
Derby dominated the last fifteen minutes but could not get the equaliser that their possession warranted.
Rams Team: Severn, Jones, Keane, Le Sant, Garton, Abalimba, Hendrick, Kelly, Dillon, Ball, Spencer (Cole HT).
