LOAN WATCH: VARNEY ON TARGET FOR OWLS

Posted on: Mon 02 Nov 2009

dcfc.co.uk monitors the progress of the Rams' out-on-loan players.

Following Mark Dudley's recall from Alfreton Town and Arnaud Mendy's return from Grimsby Town, there are just two Derby County players out on loan.

Striker Luke Varney was on target for Sheffield Wednesday with the equalising goal in their 1-1 draw at Bristol City. Nicky Maynard had put Gary Johnson's side ahead before Varney crashed home a powerful right-foot effort late on to earn Wednesday a share of the spoils. It was his third goal in eleven appearances for the Owls since his loan move in August.

The other Ram out on loan is goalkeeper Lewis Price with League One Brentford for the entire campaign. The Bees were beaten convincingly 3-0 at Exeter City, with the Welsh International given no chance as Bertie Cozic, Steve Tully and Craig Noone scored the goals for Paul Tisdale's side as Andy Scott's men slipped to sixteenth place.
