ADDISON BACK IN BUSINESS

Miles shines in Rams Dutch test

Miles Addison earned praise from his manager and team mates, after putting in an excellent display against ADO Den Haag in the Rams friendly match in Holland this evening.

The England under 21 international is on the comeback trail having been out with a foot injury.

However, the imposing centre half showed no signs of struggle as he produced a Man of the Match performance in The Hague, with the Rams losing to a late goal from Den Haag forward Yuri Cornelisse.

Addison exclusively told dcfc.co.uk in Den Haag: "I came back against Coventry, but that was from the bench, so it was nice to start a game this evening.

"It's been frustrating being out for so long, but hopefully that is behind me now and I can push on from here.

"It was a difficult match because they are a good side, a Dutch Premier League side and it showed.

"They put us under pressure at times but there was nothing we couldn't cope with.

"There is strong competition for places at centre half now, with Deano (Leacock), Barks (Shaun Barker) and Bucko (Jake Buxton), so it's important to be fit and play well when given an opportunity.

"I'm sure I'll be sore in the morning because it's been so long since I played a game as competitive as that, but I'll be working hard for the next week or so to be ready for the Swansea game, if the Manager wants me to play a role."
