Dean Leacock and Rob Hulse could return to the Derby County squad in time for the visit of Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.
Leacock missed the victory at Watford with a tight hamstring while Hulse has missed the last two games with the same problem.
Both players are due to resume full training on Friday and could be feature in the Pride Park encounter.
"Dean's hamstring is a bit tight but he will step things up over the next few days with a view to training on Friday," Manager Nigel Clough told dcfc.co.uk.
"Rob is similar to Dean as well. There is no point risking them before Friday at the moment."
Shaun Barker's thigh injury means he will be again sidelined and Miles Addison remains out with a slight reaction to his foot problem but it isn't considered too serious to keep him out for too long.
In addition Fredrik Stoor has had an injection in his injured ankle and requires a week's rest so he is highly unlikely to face Doncaster.
Attacker Kris Commons is working separately with Coach Johnny Metgod after two months out with a hamstring problem and could return to full training on Friday.
Added Clough: "We are looking to arrange a friendly for next week and we hope Kris can take part that."
