Derby County have today swooped to sign Millwall winger David Martin on an emergency loan until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old could feature in tonight's Coca-Cola Championship fixture against Newcastle United at Pride Park Stadium.
Martin is a left-sided midfielder who played in both FA Cup 3rd Round ties against the Rams last month.
He was key member of the Millwall side that reached the League One Play-Off Final last season, and Nigel Clough says Martin is a player who has been tracked by the Rams for some time.
Clough told dcfc.co.uk: "David is a player we have monitored for the last six months or so, and we have been very impressed with him.
"He is naturally left sided and will bring some pace and balance to the side.
"He also has a real hunger and desire to better himself and play at a higher level and we believe he fits the bill in terms of the type of player we are looking to bring to Derby County."
He caught the attention of Football League clubs whilst playing for non-league Dartford and Crystal Palace moved to secure his signature in January 2007.
After a year at Selhurst Park and opportunities limited, he joined Millwall and quickly established himself as a regular in the Lions' midfield.
