Derby County will discover the full extent of Kris Commons' hamstring injury early next week.

The forward was forced off in the early stages of today's Championship defeat at home to Swansea City.

Commons is set to have a scan on his hamstring on Monday to determine the full extent of the damage.

"The early indications are that he has a strain," manager Nigel Clough told dcfc.co.uk.

"He will have a scan on Monday and we will have to wait and see what the next course of action is from there.

"We hope it isn't too serious."

Commons has been in fine form of late alongside Rob Hulse in attack and had scored two goals in his previous three games prior to today's game.
