Shaun Barker is in no doubt Derby County have enough quality to put a serious dent in West Bromwich Albion's promotion push this afternoon.

The Rams travel to the Hawthorns targeting a return to the top half of the Championship.

After being part of the Derby side that defeated the two sides above Albion in the table in recent weeks - Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest - Barker is convinced the Rams can keep their fine record against the Championship's pace-setters today.

"We have to go to West Brom and believe we can get three points," Barker told Rams Player.

"It is a chance for us to prove ourselves against one of the top sides in the League.

"We have done it before so we know what it takes to get a result.

"If we are to get a win we have to focus on the quality we have in our camp rather than worrying about West Brom.

"Why can't we go there and get a win?

"Maybe in the first half of the season we would think about going there, keeping it tight and coming away with a point if we were lucky.

"That is what we want to do at the very least. We want to go there and get three points and we believe we can.

"If we spend our time worrying about West Brom then maybe we will be a little too cautious.

"There is no reason to be when you see how we've been playing of late."

Derby approach the game looking to bounce back from the 1-0 home defeat to Swansea City last Saturday, and the defender is confident of a response.

"When we have been beaten in the last few weeks (at Plymouth and against Birmingham), we've seen a good response.

"To be honest, the last three we've lost we haven't deserved to.

"But, we've responded in resounding fashion and we believe we can do the same this weekend.

"Throughout the last month you can see the confidence growing in the lads, and the fans as well.

"We seem to have turned things around and we want to keep it going until the end of the season.

"You have to have confidence to do that, and if you look at the last few away performances you can see the confidence in the side. "
