Chris Porter's confidence is brimming high after he scored his second goal in as many games against Watford at the weekend.
The former Motherwell striker took his season's tally to three with a composed finish late on to wrap up the three points.
After recovering from his injury-ravaged first half of the season Porter is enjoying his football again and was elated to score his first goal at Pride Park in almost a year.
"That's two in two for me, so naturally I'm delighted with how things are going for me right now and I hope it continues," Porter told Rams Player.
"To score in front of 30,000 fans was an unbelievable feeling and it makes me feel like I am properly back now after my injury and being out the team.
"We needed that second goal in the game, we were under some heavy pressure from Watford and taking that chance gave us some breathing space.
"Chances were few and far between in the game, so when I burst clear on goal I knew it was a chance I needed to take.
"I'm quite confident at the moment so I had the belief I would put the ball away."
Porter has the opportunity to add to his tally in midweek as Derby travel to Reading on Wednesday.
The win over the Hornets kicked off a busy March for the Rams, and Porter was insistent that a winning start was vital.
"There are a huge amount of games to play, so we've got off to the best possible start," he said.
"Now we need to build on the victory and carry on doing what we've been doing.
"Reading will be tough on Wednesday, they've had a good run of results lately but we've been playing well for some time now so hopefully we can rack up another win."
