Robbie Savage is convinced Derby County can recover from Wednesday's defeat at Reading at Doncaster Rovers tomorrow.
The Rams suffered their tenth defeat on the road this season with a 4-1 reverse at the Madejski Stadium.
In bizarre circumstances, Savage ended up playing the majority of the night in goal after Derby lost senior goalkeepers Stephen Bywater (injury) and Saul Deeney (sent off) in the first half.
Savage is set to resume his natural position of centre midfield at the Keepmoat Stadium tomorrow, the venue where he opened his Derby County goalscoring account last season, and he believes a battling performance is required.
He told dcfc.co.uk: "Doncaster will be a really tough game, but we believe in ourselves and we just need to dig in and get something.
"We've lost ten on the road this season and I can't put my finger on why.
"We started poorly on Wednesday and it just carried on.
"I think we need to realise in situations where things aren't going our way we need to stand firm and defend well as a team."
On his night between the posts Savage was modest enough to say he pulled off some 'great saves'.
"As a kid I used to dive around in the street in goal with my mates, but before Wednesday I had never been in goal during an actual game," he said.
"At 2-1 down and a man down, I think it was a wise choice to put me in goal especially with another game coming up on Saturday.
"It might have kept my legs a bit fresh and we needed our creative players out there.
"A made a few good saves, one of them nearly popped by shoulder out to be honest.
"It is a shame Stephen Bywater is injured because he has been immense for us this year and I believe he is the best goalkeeper in the Championship.
"Saul came on and was fantastic before the red card, which I think was really, really harsh."
