David Martin joined Derby County on a month's loan from Liverpool yesterday and admitted: "It was a no-brainer coming here."
The 24-year-old has solved Derby's goalkeeping crisis with Stephen Bywater out with a back injury and Saul Deeney suspended.
Martin checked in at Moor Farm yesterday to meet his team-mates for the first time ahead of this afternoon's Championship fixture at Doncaster Rovers.
He told Rams Player after his first session: "I returned from training on Thursday with a call from my agent about the possibility of coming to Derby, so I quickly packed my bags and got myself down here.
"It was a no-brainer really when you look at the size of Derby County as a club, I really couldn't turn it down.
"It is a freakish and unfortunate situation for the goalkeepers we have here both being ruled out, but that is football sometimes.
"One door closes and another opens, so I hope I can make the most of my chance and rise to the challenge.
"I've had a training session to get to know everyone, especially the back four, so hopefully we will be ok for the Doncaster game.
"I'm really excited about playing; it has been a frustrating season for me at Liverpool."
