HUNT: "WE CAN END AWAY TROUBLES"

Posted on: Fri 19 Mar 2010

Nicky Hunt is confident Derby County can end their recent troubles on the road at Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow.

The Rams have collected 4 points from their 6 Championship fixtures away from home since the turn of the year.

Wednesday are 4 points below the Rams and only a point above the relegation zone, so Saturday's game is vital for both sides.

"Away from home we've been struggling of late, but we have the players to swing things around," Hunt told Rams Player.

"Sheffield Wednesday has to be the one where we turn things around; if we can get the points it will be huge for us.

"Every game is massive, but given the positions we're both in it is a big game and everyone is looking forward to it."

With 9 games left to play, Hunt has his eyes on a respectable points return to see Derby safe sooner rather than later.

"We can rectify the slip-ups we've had of late in the forthcoming games, which are all winnable," he said.

"We should have won on Tuesday (2-2 draw against Middlesbrough), so the next batch games are crucial for us as players and as a club.

"The players are here to do it on the pitch, we've seen it against Forest and Newcastle but we need to do it week in week out.

"We've not been able to see out games lately; scoring hasn't been a problem but we've struggled to keep goals out."
