Derby County have today completed the permanent signing of winger David Martin from Millwall.
The left-winger, who turns 25 this Thursday, enjoyed a successful emergency loan stint with the Rams in the second half of the 2009/10 season.
He made a total of 11 appearances for Derby, opening his goalscoring account in emphatic style with a fine finish in the 2-0 victory over Cardiff City on the final day of the season.
Martin has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal as Nigel Clough's squad continues to take shape for next season.
Clough said: "We're pleased to have David with us on a permanent basis.
"He settled in well during his loan spell and he will come back for pre-season with a great deal of confidence because of the way he finished the season.
"David is an exciting player who we hope can develop here; he is hungry to succeed.
"He had to be patient waiting for his chance, but with Stephen Pearson likely to miss the start of the season after undergoing surgery he has the chance to make the position his own from the start."
Martin caught the attention of Football League clubs whilst playing for non-league Dartford and Crystal Palace moved to secure his signature in January 2007.
After a year at Selhurst Park and opportunities limited, he joined Millwall and quickly established himself as a regular in the Lions' midfield prior to his loan move to Pride Park in February 2010.
