Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark has expressed his delight at snapping up Rams winger Lee Croft on loan.
A year after joining the Rams, the right-sider today joined the League One side on a six-month loan.
Clark knows Croft well, having been on the coaching staff at Norwich City during the 25-year-old's time at Carrow Road.
"Lee will add competition for places in the wide areas; he'll put pressure on the lads that are there," Clark told Huddersfield's official website.
"During my time at Norwich he was very predominant in creating goals.
"That earned him a great move to Derby, but for whatever reason he seems to have lost his way a little bit and that hasn't worked out for him. Perhaps he needs this new lease of life and we are delighted to have him.
"He's another player who has played at a higher level. He's mainly a right sided winger; he likes to use his pace to get at the full-back and go on the outside.
"He's also a very bubbly character - he's a good fellow and he'll integrate into the group. He is also experienced; he played a lot of games in the Championship and quite a few in the Premier League at a good age.
"He wants to reignite his career and he is the right man for us - we need that competition for places all over the pitch.
"Lee is another player who has come in from a higher level, which falls into line with what we're trying to do."
Croft found himself out of favour at Pride Park in the second half of last season, and in total made 21 appearances for the Rams.
