Nigel Clough feels he has a positive selection headache in attack going into Saturday's home game with Sheffield United.
Chris Porter is a doubt as he recovers from his hip injury, so Clough must decide who will lead in the line in attack.
New signing Alberto Bueno, as well as Kris Commons, Tomasz Cywka and make-shift forward Dean Moxey are all in the running to start up top.
Commons scored last time out against Queens Park Rangers and both Cywka and Moxey have been on the scoresheet this season.
Clough is still chasing transfer targets to bolster his attacking options, but won't be rushed into a panic signing just to make up the numbers.
"We're pursuing options and targets we have indentified," he told Rams Player.
"We had a deal lined up last week for a striker on deadline day, but injuries at his club put that on the back-burner for now.
"It certainly is an opportunity we will revisit, as well as other options.
"There's no point us bringing people in purely for the sake of having an extra body.
"We understand the fans want to see someone come in, and it is tempting to just go out and bring a body in.
"What we have to remember though is that whoever we bring in, they must be better than what we currently have.
"We have players waiting in the wings as well like Ben Pringle and David Martin, waiting for their chance.
"We had two youngsters on the bench last week (Mark O'Brien & Callum Ball), and if we have to use them then we will.
"Chris Porter is quite doubtful for the weekend, but we have plenty of good attacking options to choose from.
"Alberto Bueno has come in and looked sharp, Kris Commons scored last time out against QPR after starting up front, Tomasz Cywka is more comfortable now playing with his protective mask and Dean Moxey has been superb up front in the last two matches.
"It is a good selection poser to have to be honest, they are all a threat in their own ways."
