Countdown To Kick-Off: Millwall (A)

Posted on: Fri 10 Feb 2012

Milllwall Vs Derby County
Saturday 11th February 2012, 3pm
npower Championship

Derby County are back in action on Saturday, in what will be the side's first fixture in the space of 10 days.

Due to last weekend's postponement of the East Midlands derby, the Rams have not played since the narrow 3-2 defeat against Barnsley, whereas Millwall have featured in three games during the same period.

Kenny Jackett's side have struggled of form of late, winning just one npower Championship fixture in their last six. However, the Lions will be buoyed by Tuesday night's dramatic 3-2 FA Cup victory over Southampton.

A win for the Rams would complete a seasonal double for Nigel Clough's side, as the reverse fixture at Pride Park in September last year ended in a 3-0 victory, with goals coming from Craig Bryson, Jeff Hendrick and Steven Davies.

Derby County Team News

Rams boss Nigel Clough says striker Nathan Tyson is fully fit and available for Saturday's trip to the Den.

Tyson was in-line to make his return to the starting XI against his former club Nottingham Forest last weekend, after overcoming a niggling groin injury that has restricted the front-man to just two starts this season.

Elsewhere, leading goal-scorer Theo Robinson (calf) remains sidelined, whilst Paul Green is expected to return to the squad after sitting out the 3-2 defeat at Barnsley following speculation surrounding his future at the club.

Long-term absentees Mark O'Brien (cruciate ligament) and Saul Deeney (shoulder) continue their rehabilitation from injury.

Millwall Team News

French midfielder Jimmy Abdou is a major doubt after picking up a knee injury in last Saturday's 2-1 defeat to West Ham United.

Captain Paul Robinson (thigh) is closing in on a return to first-team action; however, Tamika Mkandawire (knee), Therry Racon (ankle) and goalkeeper Steven Mildenhall (ankle) remain on the sidelines.

Elsewhere, January transfer window signing Andy Keogh is expected to return to the side after being ineligible to feature against the Saints in midweek.

Keep An Eye On....Darius Henderson

The former Sheffield United target-man is enjoying a rich vein of form of late, netting 16 goals in all competitions, including two hat-tricks in the space of a week in the Lions' wins over Leicester City and Dagenham & Redbridge.

Henderson began his career at fellow Championship side Reading before joining Gillingham for a nominal fee in January 2004.

The 30-year-old scored 11 goals during his spell with the Gills, which attracted the attention of Watford manager Aidy Boothroyd who duly snapped the forward up for £450,000.

It was at the Hornets that Henderson enjoyed his most fruitful spell to date; grabbing 29 league goals in 105 appearances, before moving to Sheffield United three years later for a fee of £2 million.

Following the Blades' relegation to League One, Henderson joined the Lions in June last year for an undisclosed fee.

Despite missing Tuesday night's victory over Southampton through injury, Henderson is expected to be available for selection ahead of Saturday's npower Championship encounter.

We Said....

Manager Nigel Clough: "Their last two games have been quite a contrast.

"They were at West Ham and they should have got something from there - they lost to a very controversial goal. But then they had an unbelievable result down at Southampton.

"To have West Ham away and Southampton away in the space of four days - and to win one of them shows that they have got an awful lot of character."

The Man In The Middle

Oliver Langford from the West Midlands will oversee proceedings at the Den on Saturday.

Langford has taken charge of 25 games this season, issuing 69 yellow cards and seven red cards.

He last officiated a Rams fixture back in August last year, when Nigel Clough's men secured a 3-0 victory over Doncaster Rovers at Pride Park.

Ticket Information

Tickets for the game are still available to pre-purchase on general sale until 5pm on Friday 10th February 2012.

The Rams have been sent an initial allocation of 1,000 tickets to sell in advance, and tickets cost £24 for adults, £15 for over 60s, £12 for under 16s and £7 for under 12s.
