Pacy forward Craig Fagan arrived at Pride Park for a £750,000 fee from Coca-Cola Championship side Hull City during the January 2007 transfer window.
He originally came to prominence at Colchester United after joining them from Birmingham City, where he had come through the youth ranks.
Fagan scored six goals in 42 games during a loan spell and United were only too happy to land him permanently in March 2004.
After a further 18 goals in 40 games he was snapped up by then Hull boss Peter Taylor for an undisclosed six-figure fee.
He played a key role as the Tigers clinched promotion from League 1 and has also been a consistent performer in the Championship.
Fagan, who is equally happy playing wide on the right or as a central striker, netted six times in 27 league games in 2006/07 for Hull to go with five in 41 in 2005/06.
And he added his first in Derby County colours with the opener in the 1-1 draw at Leicester City on Good Friday 2007.
Fagan was suspended after being given charged by violent conduct by the Football Association following an incident in the game at Liverpool on September 1.
He was given an automatic three-game ban that was extended by a further match after the FA decided that the Rams' appeal was "frivolous".
Fagan made his return for the reserves - his first action of any kind since the ban was put in place - and his senior comeback followed at Fulham on October 20, some seven weeks since the Liverpool game.
He is currently back at Hull having returned to the Tigers on an emergency loan deal that runs until the end of 2007/08 with Phil Brown's side having qualified for the Coca-Cola Championship play-offs.
