Promising forward Steve Davies was snapped up from League 1 side Tranmere Rovers as part of Paul Jewell's summer 2008 rebuild.
Davies made his Tranmere debut in August 2005 against Oldham Athletic and soon established himself in the team.
Tranmere fought off attention from Leeds United in August 2007 for Davies, who was starting to make a name for himself as a left-sided player.
But he was sidelined by cruciate knee ligament damage for the majority of 2007/08 before making his comeback towards the end of the season.
Overall Davies made 69 appearances for Tranmere and scored five goals.
He has featured regularly for the Rams so far this season and scored his first goal in the 1-1 draw at home to Birmingham City at the end of September.
