The Teen Pride Appeal - a partnership between Derby County Football Club and Derby Hospitals - has reached a key milestone raising over £10K since its launch just three months ago.
The Rams have chosen the Derbyshire Children's Hospital as its dedicated charity for the year.
The club is working work with Derby Hospitals to support the Teen Pride Appeal with money from the appeal going towards new facilities and equipment for teenage patients who visit the Children's Hospital Derby City General Hospital.
In the space of just a few months the total for the appeal has exceeded £10K with this set to rise even further over the coming months with a host of dedicated fundraising events already planned.
The next event is planned for March 7 - when hospital staff and Foundation Trust members are being offered reduced price tickets for the DCFC v Bristol match with £5 from each ticket sold going directly to the appeal.
This will be followed by a sponsored walk (8.5 miles) around the beautiful Carsington Water on Sunday March 8.
The first 300 people to register will receive two free tickets to a cricket match at Derbyshire County Cricket Club.
Derby County goalkeeper Stephen Bywater, who is an ambassador for the appeal, has signed up for the walk.
Please contact Kerry Wood on 01332 786445 or email kerry.wood@derbyhospitals.nhs.uk if you are interested in taking part.
Derby County President and CEO Tom Glick said: "We have made a tremendous start and I'm delighted we have hit the milestone of £10,000 ahead of schedule.
"We thank all our supporters who have played their part so far and will be doing so in the future with this important appeal."
The money raised will help provide a dedicated outpatient waiting area for teenage patients, equipped with TV and video game stations for young patients to use while they are waiting for their appointments.
There will also be a new 'chill-out' room for youngsters, with facilities for patients to listen to music, access the internet, play games, watch TV and chat with their peers.
