Following the announcement last December that Teen Pride had reached its £40,000 target, work has recently started on the dedicated teenage outpatient area at the Children's Hospital.
Derby County Manager Nigel Clough and first-team players Dean Moxey and Ben Pringle were on duty to lend a hand earlier this week.
Julie Chapman from Derby Hospitals Charity said : "Thanks go to Nigel and the players for calling in to check how the work was progressing. It's great news that the work has now started and our teenage patients will soon have an outpatients waiting area that has been created just for them.We are all very excited and can't wait to see the finished result."
Derby County Football Club are currently helping to raise funds for Phase II of the Teen Pride project with a target to raise a further £20,000 which will be used to refurbish additional areas for the exclusive use of teenage inpatients.
Rams fans can get involved and donate towards Teen Pride phase II by logging on to www.justgiving.com/teenpride2 and by taking part in fundraising events organised by Derby County Football Club such as a chance to bid for the players' shirts after the last match of the season and the opportunity to "play on the pitch" at Pride Park against the ex-Rams team on Saturday 22nd May.
