THE DERBY COUNTY FOOTBALL FOUNDATION
The Derby County Football Foundation is part of the Derby County Football Club Academy.
It caters for boys and girls between the ages of six and 13, of any ability.
Emphasis is placed on skills and techniques coaching involving an awards scheme.
The awards scheme incorporates six disciplines of football skills and techniques coaching and endeavours to improve the football ability of youngsters.
Youngsters will receive badges and certificates commensurate with their achievements.
There are 28 centres around Derbyshire. The youngsters are placed in groups according to their age and coached by fully qualified FA coaches.
The Foundation also runs specialist goalkeeping courses both after school during term time and in the school holidays.
Any youngster who shows the potential to be coached at a higher level may be requested to attend a development centre for a period of time for further assessment with successful youngsters progressing into the Academy.
The Football Foundation also runs holiday courses during each school holiday.
These are held at the Moor Farm Training Centre as well as at other venues throughout the county.
These are full day courses and enable youngsters to receive skills and techniques coaching as well as taking part in fun sessions including small-sided games, tournaments and penalty shoot-outs.
The Saturday Morning Fun Club at Moor Farm is designed for youngsters who want to enjoy playing football in a fun environment.
The Pro-Team Performance programme offers local football teams the opportunitiy to bring their teams to Moor Farm and be coached by fully qualified FA coaches in a superb environment.
The schools coaching programme takes place in a number of schools around the county.
Fully qualified FA coaches go into schools and run six-week coaching sessions for youngsters in their own environment.
It aims to improve their footballing ability while still incorporating fun and games.
