Rams' development squad suffer disappointing defeat on the road.

Derby County’s PDL U21 Development League 2 title aspirations took a major blow as table topping Leicester City cruised to a 3-0 victory this afternoon.
Former Stoke City winger Ben Marshall was the architect for the opening goal; setting up Academy youngster Michael Cain to put the Foxes ahead with a composed finish.
Substitute Jacob Blyth doubled the home side’s advantage when he connected with Martyn Waghorn’s superb delivery on 68 minutes.
Blyth completed the scoring in stoppage time when he capitalised on a defensive error from Niall Dawkins, and put the game beyond any doubt.
City began proceedings brightly, and almost went ahead when Marshall’s powerful free-kick was brilliantly clawed round the post by goalkeeper Saul Deeney.
Then Marshall and Jamie Anton both had efforts cleared off the line, before the Rams responded through Charles Vernam, but shot-stopper Conrad Logan reacted smartly to deny the Academy striker.
The Foxes took just 12 minutes after the restart to open the scoring, as some neat interplay between Jamie Vardy and Marshall on the edge of the penalty area, led to the latter teeing up Cain, who rifled a left-footed drive in the bottom corner.
10 minutes later, Leicester doubled their lead through Blyth. The former Burton Albion loanee bundled in Waghorn’s free-kick after Conor Clifford had been impeded by Mason Bennett.
And in stoppage time the Foxes rounded off the scoring when Blyth completed his brace after latching onto Dawkins’ attempted header back to Deeney, before curling past the 30-year-old.
