Defender back in the fold for Christmas & New Year matches.

Defender Kieron Freeman has been recalled by Derby County from his loan spell at League 1 Notts County.

The Wales Under 21 international joined the Magpies on an emergency loan basis until mid-January back in November.

Head Coach Steve McClaren has opted to recall the full-back in time for the Boxing Day trip to Huddersfield Town and Freeman reported for training at the Derby County Training Centre this morning.

Starting at Huddersfield, Derby will play four games inside 11 days and McClaren has opted to bring Freeman back to the iPro Stadium in time for the busy schedule.

The 21-year-old has made seven appearances for Derby this season in all competitions, the last of which came in mid-September against Leicester City in the Third Round of the Capital One Cup.

In total he has made 27 appearances since joining the Rams from local rivals Nottingham Forest at the beginning of last season.
