Derby Telegraph's Thunderstick giveaway plans shelved for Play-Off Semi Final Second Leg on Sunday.

The Derby Telegraph has decided to abandon its Roar on the Rams Thunderstick giveaway after listening to the views of fans.

The paper had planned to distribute the inflatable black and white batons to Derby County supporters in advance of Sunday’s play-off semi-final second leg against Brighton at the iPro Stadium.

But fans made it clear via social media and through calls and emails to the club that they were not in favour and felt that their use – rather than adding to the atmosphere – would be unwelcome.

As a result, plans for the campaign have been shelved.

Derby County prides itself on its fan engagement strategy and takes the views of its supporters very seriously, working with them over the last 18 months to create better fan relations and a much enhanced match day environment within the iPro Stadium.

Similarly, the Derby Telegraph values the opinions of its readers. It will continue with its overall Roar on the Rams campaign, to showcase the city’s support for Derby’s play-off campaign.
