Rams to face Cumbrians at Brunton Park.

Derby County have been drawn away against Carlisle United in the First Round of the Capital One Cup.
The draw for the First Round of the competition took place at the Football League headquarters this morning and was announced on Sky Sports News at 9:40am, as Steve McClaren’s men were handed a trip to Brunton Park against League Two side Carlisle.
The Cumbrians are managed by former Republic of Ireland international Graham Kavanagh and finished 22nd in League One during the 2013-14 season.
The last time the Rams visited Brunton Park was in the League Cup in 1990, as the two sides battled out a 1-1 draw before Derby overcame Carlisle 1-0 in the second leg at the Baseball Ground in the Second Round of the competition.
There are numerous links between the two clubs, as the Rams’ current first-team coach Paul Simpson played for Carlisle and managed them to a double promotion from the Conference to League One between 2004-2006, while former Derby player, Paul Thirlwell currently captains the Cumbrians.
