Rams to take on the Brewers at the Pirelli Stadium this evening (7:30pm).

Derby County take on League 2 outfit Burton Albion this evening in their penultimate pre-season friendly of the summer ahead of the 2014/15 season.

Steve McClaren’s men will make the short journey to the Pirelli Stadium (7:30pm) to step up their preparations for the upcoming campaign.

Derby have five wins (1-0 at Matlock, 2-1 against Nuneaton, 4-2 versus Northampton, 3-1 away to Notts County and 1-0 against Slavija Sarajevo) a single draw (0-0 against Ilkeston FC) and one defeat – against Zenit St Petersburg - to their name in pre-season so far.

Burton Albion, managed by former Derby defender Gary Rowett, finished sixth in League 2 last season and tasted defeat in the Play-Off Final against Fleetwood Town to deny them promotion to the third tier of English football.

Steve McClaren is to take a strong Derby County squad to the Pirelli Stadium this evening.

Goalkeeper Lee Grant is expected to start in goal after making his first pre-season appearance in Austria last Friday, after recovering from a knee injury.

Richard Keogh, Jeff Hendrick, Jake Buxton, Jamie Ward and Craig Forsyth were all rested for the 1-0 win over Slavija Sarajevo on Friday in Austria, and are expected to return to the starting line-up.

However, Derby do have a handful of injury concerns.

Zak Whitbread (back) and Paul Coutts (hip flexor) missed the pre-season tour of Austria and are still sidelined, while Mark O’Brien has an ankle problem and Simon Dawkins is nursing a slight groin injury.

Midfielder George Thorne won’t be involved after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament last week while long-term injury victim Shaun Barker (knee) continues to work his way towards a return.
