Goalkeeper extends his stay at the iPro Stadium by a week.

Derby County have today extended England Under 21 international captain and goalkeeper Jack Butland’s loan spell from Premier League Stoke City.

The 21-year-old shot-stopper has penned an extension to his initial one-month loan spell by a further seven days.

As a result, the week-long extension will make him available for Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture at Watford.

Butland made five appearances during his initial month at the iPro Stadium, keeping two clean sheets and helping the side to three wins along the way.

His arrival came as a result of first-choice shot-stopper Lee Grant suffering an ankle injury in Derby’s 3-0 win at Reading back in October.

Grant is continuing to work his way back to fitness with Derby’s medical team and will be monitored closely as he aims to return to the side in the near future.
