Andreas Weimann and Abdoul Camara today resumed training with Derby County’s first-team squad.

Weimann has been out of action since early August with a knee injury that he picked up in the build-up to the opening game of the 2016/17 season against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Camara, meanwhile, has missed Derby’s last two games with a hamstring problem sustained in the game at Burton Albion prior to the international break last month.

The players completed their rehabilitation programmes on Wednesday with Derby’s medical team and manager Nigel Pearson says their return to training is a chance to assess their fitness levels.

Pearson has not ruled out Weimann or Camara being involved in the squad to face Bristol City on Saturday - but says the fixture may come too soon for them.

He told Rams Player HD: “They’re (Weimann & Camara) back with us today and we’ll assess where they’re at.

“When players have been out for a lengthy period of time it is important for them to get enough training days in.

“Having said that, we’ll have to assess a few injuries that we may have to take into the weekend’s game.

“It could be a case of balancing both of those cases off.

“I am not particularly in a rush to put them under undue pressure when they’ve not had enough training ground time; we’ll see how they are.”

Weimann is yet to feature in a first-team game this season after spending six weeks out of action - while Camara has made one start and a further three appearances off the bench in all competitions.

Meanwhile defender Jason Shackell will miss Saturday's game at Bristol City with a calf injury.
