Derby County’s domestic pre-season schedule ahead of the 2017/18 campaign has been confirmed.

The Rams announced earlier this week that they will face German top flight side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and 2. Bundesliga outfit Kaiserslautern in the lead-up to the new season.

Rowett’s squad will report back for pre-season training on Wednesday 28th June, before heading to Tenerife for a training camp – which will NOT include any games – on Sunday 2nd July for seven days.

Derby’s first pre-season friendly will be away to National League North side Kidderminster Harriers, who are managed by former Rams midfielder John Eustace, on Tuesday 11th July (7:45pm), which will be followed by a game at National League Macclesfield Town on Saturday 15th July (3pm).

On Tuesday 18th July, the Rams will take part in two friendly games on the same evening. One group of first-team squad members will head to Sky Bet League 2 side Port Vale, while another will visit Sky Bet League 1 newcomers Doncaster Rovers (both 7:45pm).

The thinking behind playing two friendly matches on the same evening is to allow as many players as possible from the first-team squad to get match minutes under their belts, just under three weeks after reporting back for training.

Another confirmed friendly game is on Tuesday 25th July, with Rowett’s side travelling to Sky Bet League 1 outfit Northampton Town (7:45pm).

The 2017/18 season will commence on Saturday 5th August, with the EFL’s fixtures being announced on Wednesday 21st June.
