Derby County is saddened to learn of the death of former player Tony Conwell.

Conwell passed away at the age of 85 in hospital at the weekend.

A full-back in his playing days, he was on the books at Derby between 1959 and 1962 and made over 100 appearances for the club during that time.

Before joining Derby he had played for Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town and, following three years with the Rams, he ended his playing days with Doncaster Rovers.

The condolences and thoughts of everyone at Derby County go out to the family and friends of Tony Conwell at this time.
